As a new Olympic event, surfing has garnered significant attention.While Paris is the official host of the summer games, dozens of Olympians will compete nearly 9,800 miles away. Forty-eight surfers will ride the waves off the coast of Teahupo'o, a small village on the French Polynesian island of Tahiti. This surfing event in Paris is scheduled to take place over four days within a 10-day time frame from July 27th to August 5th.
